Dr Jeremy Mannix

Veterinarian

Dr Jeremy Mannix is an experienced and hardworking veterinarian who has dedicated more than 27 years to the care and welfare of animals. After graduating in 1997, Jeremy began his career in a small practice in South Australia, where he built a strong foundation in both small animal and mixed practice work. Eager to broaden his skills and experience, he then spent two and a half years working in England, gaining valuable international exposure before returning to Australia.

In 2003, Jeremy moved to Sale, Victoria, where he quickly became a trusted and respected veterinarian within the local community. Motivated by a strong commitment to providing high-quality, personalised veterinary care, he decided to establish his own practice. In 2012, The Vets Sale was born—a clinic that has since grown into a thriving and progressive practice serving animals great and small across Gippsland. Nathalie, his wife, joined him a few years later, and together they have proudly managed and expanded the practice for over a decade.

Jeremy’s professional interests are wide-ranging. While he is primarily a small animal veterinarian, he also has experience working with cattle and sheep and maintains a hands-on approach to all aspects of veterinary medicine. He has completed postgraduate training in dermatology and ultrasonography, and has a special interest in paediatric desexing and obstetrics, helping dogs and cats through safe pregnancies and births. Known for his practical, no-nonsense style combined with deep compassion, Jeremy ensures every patient receives the care they truly need.

Beyond the clinic, Jeremy lives the values he brings to his work. At home, he and Nathalie share their life with a menagerie of animals including cows, dogs, cats, and chickens. His love for animals is evident not only in his career but also in the way he surrounds himself with them in daily life. Outside of veterinary work, Jeremy enjoys gardening, spending time outdoors, exploring astronomy, and above all, spending time with his family.

Nathalie Mannix

Practice Manager & Veterinary Nurse

Nathalie is the Practice Manager of The Vets, where she brings together over a decade of hands-on veterinary nursing with a strong background in education.

Originally from the island of Rodrigues, Nathalie moved to Australia over 20 years ago, but her love for the ocean and nature remains a deep part of who she is. With a Bachelor and Master of Education and a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment, she blends her teaching expertise with more than 10 years in the veterinary industry. Nathalie is passionate about mentoring new veterinary professionals, supporting clients, and fostering a warm, positive, and professional clinic culture.

Working alongside her husband, Dr Jeremy Mannix—an experienced veterinarian of more than 27 years—Nathalie has developed advanced clinical and client care skills while managing the daily operations of their growing practice. She leads with compassion, clarity, and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare and client service.

Beyond the clinic, Nathalie and Jeremy share their property with a lively menagerie of donkeys, steers, alpacas, chickens, birds, cats, and dogs. She enjoys gardening, painting, and time outdoors, as well as quiet moments with her family.

Nathalie plays a pivotal role in shaping the clinic’s vision, sustainability initiatives, and community outreach. She brings compassion, experience, and heartfelt dedication to every animal—and every person—who walks through the doors of The Vets, ensuring thoughtful and professional care for all.

We are proud to have Dr Steve as part of our team. Dr Steve is a highly experienced and skilled veterinarian who has been a familiar and trusted face in the community for many years.

Known for his deep passion for animals and his dedication to his profession, Dr Steve has built strong relationships not only with pet owners but also with many within the broader community.

Dr Steve has been working with The Vets for several years now, and he brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our clinic. His calm and compassionate approach, combined with his decades of experience, makes him a favourite among our clients and patients.

Marie Leong Tim

Meet our future vet, Marie Leong Tim!

Marie, Nathalie’s daughter and Jeremy’s stepdaughter, is currently studying to become a veterinarian. As part of our team, she’s gaining invaluable hands-on experience under Jeremy’s mentorship.

Marie has been passionate about animals her whole life, and her dream of becoming a vet was inspired by her work in the family business. We’re so excited to support her journey and can’t wait to see her grow into this vital role!
