The Vets Sale & Loch Sport - After-Hours & Emergency Care

Weekend & Public Holidays Emergencies

We have established a referral arrangement with Gippsland Pet Emergency to ensure our clients have access to specialised emergency and critical care when we are unavailable.

When we are closed, our phone line will be automatically diverted to Gippsland Pet Emergency, a dedicated emergency and critical care service for the Gippsland region.

Following your visit, Gippsland Pet Emergency will forward your pet’s medical records and treatment summary to our clinic so we can review the case and arrange any necessary follow-up care when we reopen.

Gippsland Pet Emergency is a specialised emergency and critical care service staffed by an experienced team of veterinarians and veterinary nurses. They provide:

  • Urgent assessments
  • Advanced diagnostics
  • Emergency medical treatment
  • Emergency surgery
  • Critical care monitoring

They operate:

  • From Friday 6:00 pm through to Monday 8:00 am
  • 24 hours a day on public holidays

While we are not a 24-hour hospital and cannot provide continuous overnight monitoring, we may be available to:

  • Assess urgent cases
  • Provide emergency treatment
  • Stabilise your pet
  • Arrange transfer to a specialist or emergency hospital if required

Please note that availability may vary depending on staffing and clinical commitments.

If you are unable to travel to Gippsland Pet Emergency, we recommend seeking the closest available emergency veterinary service to ensure your pet receives timely care.

In any emergency situation, prompt treatment gives your pet the best chance of recovery.
