What should I bring to my first visit?

Please bring any medical records you have for your pet (vaccination history, microchip details, previous vet notes). If your pet is on medication, bring the packaging or a list of the medication names and dosages. For new puppies or kittens, a stool or urine sample is also helpful.

Do I need an appointment, or can I just walk in?
We encourage appointments so we can dedicate time to your pet. Walk-ins are welcome in emergencies, but booking ahead ensures shorter wait times and better care.

How often should my pet have a check-up?
We recommend at least one annual health check for most pets. Senior pets, puppies/kittens, or those with ongoing conditions may need more frequent visits (every 6 months or as advised by your vet).

What vaccinations does my pet need?

  • Dogs: Core vaccinations (parvovirus, distemper, hepatitis) + kennel cough.
  • Cats: Core vaccinations (feline herpesvirus, calicivirus, panleukopenia).

Your vet will tailor a vaccination plan depending on your pet’s age, lifestyle, and health.

What if my pet has an emergency after hours?

Our clinic offers after-hours support exclusively for existing clients, subject to staff availability. Please call the clinic number and you will be directed to the appropriate emergency service if we are unavailable.

Can I get medication refills without a consultation?
In most cases, pets need to be seen every 6 months for repeat prescriptions. This ensures the medication is still appropriate and safe. Please call ahead for refills so we can prepare them.

Do you do house calls?
House visits are available on a limited basis and must be pre-arranged. We prioritise elderly clients with no support, those with large pets who cannot travel, or end-of-life care home burials. Please call us to discuss availability.

What should I expect after surgery or dental work?
Your vet or nurse will provide written and verbal aftercare instructions tailored to your pet. Common things include keeping your pet warm, restricting activity, monitoring the incision site, and offering small meals. If you notice swelling, bleeding, or changes in behaviour, call us immediately.

Do you see wildlife?

Yes, we provide first aid and triage free of charge for injured wildlife and then transfer them to licensed carers where possible. Please call ahead so we can prepare.

Do you offer grooming or boarding?
We do not provide general grooming or boarding services. Grooming at our clinic is only offered in special circumstances where sedation is required for the welfare of the pet (for example, severe matting or medical concerns).

For all other grooming needs, we are happy to recommend trusted local grooming services.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept EFTPOS, credit card, cheque, and cash. Please note that all payments are required upfront at the time of your appointment or service. We do not have an account system or the ability to invoice later. This ensures that we can continue to provide the best level of care for your pets while keeping our services accessible and transparent.
